Each and EVERY summer we patiently await the arrival of fresh Sweetgrass. Our Native harvesters are in Saskatchewan and pack up the braids in boxes. The drivers from Canada Post always comment, asking, what the heck is in these boxes that smells so good. Totally blows their minds!! AND ours as well as we open all the boxes and feel like swimming in the braids. There is nothing better that fresh sweetgrass. Please enjoy!

Sweetgrass is one of the most important Traditional Medicines. We are very picky about where we get our sweetgrass. Some growths of sweetgrass are in crisis because of over picking or harvesting by pulling out the root. We are working with a family who harvest sweetgrass, with ceremony and pluck the grass without pulling the root.

Here is the story shared by our friend.

Sweetgrass – a kindness medicine… has a sweet gentle aroma when we light it… 21 strands to make a braid… the first 7 strands represent those 7 generations behind us… our parents, grandparents… 7 generations behind us.. who we are and what we are is because of them… the next seven represent the 7 sacred teachings… love, respect, honesty, courage, wisdom, truth, and humility… the old people tell us how simple, powerful and beautiful the teachings are… love- a very simple teaching… respect- a powerful teaching… humility- a beautiful teaching… when we truly understand the teaching of humility… that I am not any better then anyone else and the last 7 strands… those 7 generation in front of us… our children, grandchildren… those children yet to be born… why are they important… everything we do to Mother Earth will one day affect them.

The item I got surpassed my expectations. The gasp I gasped when I opened the box and removed the paper! This is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship and it was a pleasure to engage with the staff via email when I had questions. I will treasure this piece and be returning for more!

The custom painted horse in the spirit of my wife's late horse brings her joy every time she uses it. It's going on over a year old with heavy use and it looks as perfect as the day I unwrapped it from being shipped.

I buy all the hide and fur I use for making moccasins from Tribal Spirit. The quality is amazing, and the variety is much appreciated. I also really love the traditional medicines they have available. There is often a kind note in the delivery - handwritten telling you that they sent a little extra. 🥺 As a customer, I feel a connection with this store - from the descriptions they create to describe a colour of hide, to the small batch herbal remedies, to the very fast response and kind you’ll receive if you have a question. 10 stars.
